Emerging artist and Brooklyn native “Maiya The Don” drops her single titled ‘Dusties’. The Pliznaya and Derrick Milano produced track samples fragments from the classic “Lil’ Kim” song ‘Magic Stick’ and references the trending catch phrase (You thought I was Feelin’ You) from fellow Brooklyn artist Ice Spice’s popular song Munch (Feelin’ U). These familiar elements make the song a likely favorite for current and new fans alike. Maiya The Don’s large personality explains her equally large braggadocio punchlines and delivery which help define her signature style.

Maiya and her team certainly know how to construct an anthem that can infect more than just the east coast New York music scene but can also envelop the entirety of her core listenership. The Mikey and Davey directed visual for ‘Dusties’ is well on the way to over 150K views on YouTube Music and has exceeded 1.8 Million streams on the Spotify app alone. The numbers are heading in the right direction for Maiya as she prepares for the release of her debut album which reportedly will include collaborations from ‘Fivio Foreign.’ and more. So what’s the verdict? Is Maiya indeed The Don of your playlist?
